Location: Waianae
Beech Valley is seeking an experienced Senior Controller to lead and oversee core accounting and financial operations for a healthcare organization. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and strong internal controls, while partnering with executive leadership to support strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate brings deep healthcare finance experience and a hands‑on leadership approach.
What You’ll Do- Oversee general accounting, payroll, and purchasing functions, including team leadership and development
- Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting, including balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow analysis
- Develop, implement, and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
- Lead cost accounting efforts, including service line analysis and profitability improvement initiatives
- Prepare and manage Medicare and Medicaid filings and ensure compliance with reimbursement regulations
- Oversee cash management, fixed assets, and accounts payable/receivable processes
- Partner with senior finance leadership to deliver financial reporting and analysis to executive teams and the Board
- Lead annual financial audits and support internal audit processes
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal reporting and tax requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 5+ years of progressive experience in healthcare financial management
- Prior experience as a Controller or Director of Finance within a healthcare organization
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, FASB, accrual accounting, and financial reporting
- Experience with audits, internal controls, and regulatory compliance
- Proven leadership experience managing accounting and finance teams
- Proficiency with accounting systems and Microsoft Office tools
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Experience with integrated healthcare delivery systems
- Familiarity with Financial Edge or similar accounting platforms
- Experience in nonprofit healthcare environments
