The Department of Community Services, Community Assistance (Section
8) Division, is hiring an Urban Rehabilitation Inspector II
. The position supervises and coordinates the work of Urban Rehabilitation Inspector staff under the guidance of the Rehabilitation Loan Officer. In this role, you will supervise and coordinate inspection staff, oversee property inspections, and guide property owners to ensure compliance with rehabilitation program standards, as well as City and State codes. You will help ensure properties meet program requirements through effective supervision, inspections, and technical support, making a real impact in the community.
You Will Do
- Supervise and coordinate inspectors to ensure work meets codes and rehabilitation standards.
- Inspect properties and advise owners on repairs and improvements.
- Check and verify rehabilitation work and contractor invoices.
- Handle complex cases and resolve disputes between homeowners, contractors, and staff.
- Coordinate with other programs and agencies to ensure compliance.
- Perform other related duties as needed.
- Personal vehicle required to drive to various locations to inspect housing units.
- Ability to climb stairs and step ladder, kneel to inspect and ensure that deficiencies have been corrected.
- May need to crawl to check crawl space beneath structure.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENT
:
Equivalent to graduation from high school. Responsible work experience which demonstrated the ability to perform the essential functions of the job may be substituted for education.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT
:
Three (3) years of experience in inspecting or supervising building construction work.
Possession of a valid driver's license (type 3/automobile), prior to appointment.
