Position Overview
The Alaka`ina Foundation Family of Companies (FOCs) is looking for a Security & Emergency Service Manager for the Security Branch of our government client in Kaua'i, Hawai'i. The Security & Emergency Services Manager reports directly to the Program Manager, serving as a member of the Senior Staff. Oversee all functions of the Security Department and Fire Department, including hiring, disciplinary actions, resourcing, and contract compliance.
Serve as a key liaison with various Government customers to ensure continual communication and customer satisfaction.
- Overall management of the Security Department and Fire Department with focus on resourcing – hiring, vehicles, and equipment.
- Control of budget and monitoring of expenses for Security & Fire Departments.
- Develop and implement policies, protocols and procedures for Security and Fire Departments.
- Develop and maintain Koa Lani interdepartmental plans emphasizing Antiterrorism, Physical Security, and Emergency Management plans.
- Serve as the senior Koa Lani representative to the PMRF Emergency Operations Center during real events, training exercises, and activation evaluations.
- Maintain continual communications with various Government customers, especially Contracting Officer’s Representatives for the Security Department and Fire Department.
- Serve as the Koa Lani Trusted Agent for all Common Access Card transactions, entailing continual communications with the PMRF Administration Office.
- Oversee annual Antiterrorism and Active Shooter training for all Koa Lani employees.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Office conditions are varied and include physical tasks such as lifting, pushing or pulling over 50 pounds (with a 2‑person assist). Physical positions include walking, standing or sitting for extended periods, crawling, kneeling or working in cramped areas, requiring repeated stooping and climbing. The office laboratory environment includes customer contact, extended workdays, confined work area, and field assignments.
Required Degree / Education / CertificationsBachelor’s degree in criminal justice, Environmental Sciences, Occupational Safety and Health, Fire Science, Business Management, or a related field is required.
Required Skills and Experience- Ten (10) years minimum of directly related experience in Crash Fire, Environmental, Safety and Health, and/or Security services, with at least four years at an equivalent level and including management of 25 or more personnel in an Industrial or Protective Security, Fire Services, and/or Environmental Health and Safety.
- Must have training in Information Assurance.
A master’s degree in a related field is desirable.
Required Citizenship and Clearance- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Secret security clearance is required. Applicants must either currently possess a Secret clearance or be subject to a government security investigation. Eligibility to obtain clearance prior to commencement of employment and maintaining it for the duration of employment is required.
