We are looking for a passionate Health Information Manager to assists all departments in maintaining individual medical records or sections thereof as it relates to resident care. Maintains confidentiality of all medical records through proper filing and storage. Monitors the timely return of medical orders and reports.
Responsibilities include:
- Conducts quarterly audits on admission and discharge for all entities.
- Maintains an organized system of records in accordance with federal and state guidelines.
- Maintains discharged records.
- Monitors and ensures completion of Medicare Certifications.
- Oversees the release of medical record information in appropriate format to authorized persons. Maintains an Accounting of Disclosure.
- Assists with coordination of facility efforts during OHCA and other government surveys.
- Certification in Medical Terminology, Coding or Medical Records preferred.
- Experience in working with Medical Records preferred.
- Possess strong communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel preferred.
- Associate's degree in Health Information Services.
- Must have current medical/health screening including 2 step TB clearance (can be done in-house).
