Clinical Psychologist V, SR-24: $6,043.00 - $7,351.00 per month

Clinical Psychologist VI, SR-26: $6,535.00 - $7,952.00 per month

• Perform professional work concerned with the development and application of theories, principles, methods and techniques relating to the development, behavior, capacities, traits, interests and activities of individuals in order to measure, predict, prevent, modify or induce behavior, especially as these activities relate to individuals and/or groups with serious problems of personality, social and emotional adjustment or mental retardation.
• Perform professional work in clinical psychology at a level of professional maturity.
• Provide psycho‑diagnostic, psychotherapeutic and consultative services.
• Perform work in prevention, training and/or research.
• Some positions may include supervision over other multidisciplinary professional staff who perform program services in their respective areas of competence.
• Perform other duties as required.

• Successful completion of all requirements for a doctoral degree from an accredited college in clinical psychology which included an internship in clinical psychology. (In lieu of the internship requirement, one year of professional work experience in the field of clinical psychology may be substituted.)
• Successful completion of all requirements for a doctoral degree from an accredited college in a specialty related to clinical psychology. The doctoral program must have included an internship in clinical psychology or must have been supplemented by a post‑doctoral clinical internship. (In lieu of the internship requirement, one year of post‑doctoral clinical psychology experience under competent professional supervision may be substituted.)
• Holds a doctoral degree from a training program approved by the American Psychological Association (APA) or holds a doctoral degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher education and also meets the experiential requirements for inclusion in the National Register of Health Service Providers in Psychology, as described in Chapter 465, HRS.
• Holds a diplomate certificate in good standing granted by the American Board of Examiners in Professional Psychology, as described in Chapter 465, HRS.
• A valid license to practice psychology in the State of Hawaii, as described in Chapter 465, HRS.

• If you will graduate within six (6) months of application from an accredited college or university and will meet the education requirement upon graduation, you must provide a letter attesting to such from your department chair or university, along with your most current official transcripts. The official transcript showing receipt of the degree must be submitted upon graduation.
• For Level VI applicants, a minimum of one additional year of professional clinical psychology experience that involved psycho‑diagnostic and psychotherapeutic services to individuals with severe problems of personality, social, emotional adjustment or mental retardation is required. That additional experience must be comparable in scope and responsibility to Level V in State service.
• Within two years from the date of appointment as a Clinical Psychologist V or higher, applicants must obtain a license issued by the Hawaii State Board of Psychology, as required by Chapter 465, HRS. Failure to obtain this license within the two‑year period will result in termination from state service.
• Some positions require applicants to possess a current, valid Driver's License.
