Position OverviewSensei is seeking a highly skilled Retreat Assistant to provide assistance to the spa and wellness teams, general support for guest service, and equipment safety in the movement areas. The position is also guest-facing, leading guests through self‑guided hale experiences, and reports to the Operations Manager.
About SenseiFounded by Dr. David Agus and Larry Ellison, our ecosystem of products and experiences is designed to empower individuals to grow well and lead the world toward greater wellbeing. Based on Dr. Agus’ philosophy, we guide our guests through experiential movement, rest, and nourishment classes and programs. The launch of the Retreats wellness brand took place on Lana’i, Hawaii, in partnership with Four Seasons lodging and the food offerings by Nobu.
This location also hosts golf, tennis, spa, fitness, movement, nutrition, meditative, enrichment, and body assessment facilities, and we run the F&B operation under a licensing agreement with Nobu.
- Prepare and introduce the hale for self‑guided experiences.
- Coordinate with in‑room dining on amenity delivery.
- Greet guests upon arrival, conduct a hale orientation, and ensure the guest is familiar with how to operate all hale features.
- Exit the guest and reset the hale.
- View treatment schedules and plan daily activities for morning, mid, and evening shifts.
- Maintain a constant awareness of messages from the team requesting additional hale support.
- Open hales for appointments and provide any other assistance massage therapists may need to prepare for their morning starts.
- Replenish hale pantry needs (products, robes, etc.).
- Process laundry (organize clean linen, fold, and deliver to hales).
- Maintain organization of linen storage room and upkeep.
- Provide therapist help as needed.
- Clean and sanitize treatment areas as needed.
- Assist with the setup and breakdown of scheduled classes as needed.
- Assist with the tidying of the exercise pavilion.
- Replenish exercise pavilion supplies as needed.
- Report any spa/wellness issues to the Manager on Duty.
- Leadership – Maintain a positive, upbeat role, promote and exemplify company values, and represent departmental objectives to internal and external customers.
- Customer Service – Follow up on complaints, questions, and concerns; respond to customer needs in a friendly, timely, and efficient manner.
- Teamwork – Develop and promote teamwork and cooperation among co‑workers.
- Safety – Comply with established safe work practices and attend to all safety‑related training provided by the company.
- Other duties as assigned.
- 2+ years prior experience working in a guest‑facing luxury hospitality environment.
- Incredibly organized, with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and co‑workers verbally and in writing.
- Ability to pay close attention to detail with minimal supervision.
- High commitment to guest satisfaction and service, including maintaining a courteous and professional manner, a positive attitude, a willingness to help, and promoting positive interactions with guests.
- High school certification or equivalent.

- Ability to climb stairs, bend, stretch, reach above shoulders, kneel, twist, grip items, and walk 10,000 steps+ a day, including hills and stairs.
- Ability to work in indoor and outdoor environments in a range of weather conditions.
- Ability to push and pull equipment.
- Ability to lift and carry 30 pounds.
