Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and re-evaluate assigned patients in inpatient and outpatient rehab settings, under OT supervision, to determine ongoing needs.
  • Plan and implement an ongoing occupational therapy program as prescribed by the ordering physician; select and modify treatment modalities to support functional goals and independence.
  • Regularly update the treatment plan and any home program; monitor progress, adjust based on patient response and authorization status.
  • Independently manage a full caseload, document progress, and determine when re-evaluations are appropriate per insurance authorization.
  • Collaborate with the rehab team; document care in EMR systems (Net Health Therapy and Meditech) and communicate patient status to involved clinicians.
  • Ensure coverage and compliance with Hawaii state and federal holidays as necessary based on hospital operations.
Requirements
  • Active Hawaii state license as an Occupational Therapy Assistant required by start date.
  • BLS certification from American Red Cross.
  • Minimum 2 years of work experience with adults in Outpatient and Acute care settings.
  • Education:

    Associate degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
  • Ability to work in a hospital rehab setting; willingness to work in acute and rehab roles.
  • Onboarding: must arrive the Thursday before start date to attend employee health appointment.
