The medical assistant is responsible for collaboration with the nursing and provider staff in supporting primary care of the patient. This individual must be capable of prioritizing and organizing tasks related to patient care. The medical assistant is expected to support the Company’s mission and adhere to Company policies and procedures, as well as applicable state and federal regulations.

He/she is expected to demonstrate superior interpersonal skills, facilitation of support and patient care tasks as part of the patient care team, and effective teamwork. REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES

• Collaborate with student nurses and educators during training at HKH.
• Ability to work flexible hours including some weekends and evenings.
• Support plan of care for patients that includes follow up on referrals to outside resources, prescription refills, laboratory orders, and health maintenance and prevention tracking.
• As assigned:
  Ensures timely processing of new applications and submission of Worker’s Comp. treatment plans that are complete and accurate and in compliance with State Regulations, follows up to coordinate all Concurrent Care Requests for authorization and makes appointments as needed.
• Maintains clinic supplies, medication room stocking and elimination of expired medications, and stocking of clinical exam room.
• Maintains medical instruments, including autoclave procedures.
• Demonstrates competency in all aspects of maintenance support tasks and patient care.
• Documents appropriately in the patient record.
• Provides on-site laboratory services and maintains all controls and records.
• Facilitates process for quality specialty medical diagnostic and therapeutic services to be available to patients via appropriate referral and tracking for follow-up.
