HEALTH PHYSICIST (UPWARD MOBILITY PROGRAM)
You will serve as a HEALTH PHYSICIST within the Radiation Health Division (Code 105.5) in the Radiological Controls Department (Code 105) of PEARL HARBOR NSY AND IMF. This announcement is for an Upward Mobility Program (UMP) position.
Key ResponsibilitiesYou will work under the general guidance of a senior nuclear engineer, health physicist, or supervisor, performs health physicist duties pertinent to the control of radioactivity and personnel exposure to ionizing radiation in assigned project areas.
Requirements & EducationApplicants must meet the following positive education qualifications requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual:
Applicants must possess a bachelor's degree or higher in a natural science of engineering that included at least 30 semester hours in health physics, engineering, radiological science, chemistry, physics, biology, mathematics, and/or calculus; or the previously listed courses, plus appropriate experience or other education; or certification as a health physicist by the American Board of Health Physics, plus appropriate experience and other education that provided an understanding of sciences applicable to health physics.
