Overnight Steward
A person that is a team player with good communication skills. A person in this role needs to be highly organized and able to think critically. A positive attitude and work ethic is required with a “cando” attitude.
Responsibilities and Duties- Ensure minimum brand standards are implemented.
- Maintain cleanliness of all assigned areas.
- Ensure that all Food and Beverage Essentials are implemented.
- Respond to the results of the consumer audit and ensure that relevant changes are implemented.
- Work closely with other associates in a supportive and flexible manner, focusing on the overall success of the hotel and the satisfaction of hotel guests.
- Work in a supportive and flexible manner with other departments.
- Report daily to the Stewarding/Culinary Team leaders on duty and receive assignments.
- Empty garbage and ensure that paper towel dispensers and soap dispensers are filled daily.
- Sweep, mop and scrub floors daily.
- Operate an automatic dishwashing machine that cleans and washes plates, cups, saucers, silverware, glasses and other dishes.
- Clean cooking utensils and kitchen equipment by hand.
- Prepare tableware for washing; receive or collect tableware to be washed and remove food residue with a scraper; sort china, glassware and silverware, placing each in separate racks or trays, standing plates and saucers on edge, and inverting cups so they may be washed more effectively.
- Set up the dishwashing machine and pot washing area.
- Transport trash to the disposal area.
- Wash pots, pans and trays by hand.
- Scrape food from dirty dishes and wash them by hand or place them in racks or tumblers, chemical dip, buffing wheel, hand cloth or conveyor to the dishwashing machine.
- Set up event service tents.
- Hold inverted glass over revolving brushes to clean inside surfaces.
- Wash worktables, sinks, walls, ceilings, air vents, refrigerators and meat blocks.
- Clean and wash floor and gutter drains and grease traps.
- Segregate and remove trash and garbage and place it in designated containers.
- Steam clean or hose out garbage cans.
- Polish silver using a burnishing machine tumbler, chemical dip, buffing wheel and hand cloth.
- Transfer supplies and equipment between storage and work areas.
- Report any difficulty or problem to the Outlet Manager or Assistant Manager for solution or follow‑up actions.
- Maintain par stocks of all equipment and guest supplies.
- Ensure delivery of brand promise and provide exceptional guest service at all times.
- Provide excellent service to internal customers in other departments as appropriate.
- Handle all guest and internal customer complaints and inquiries in a courteous and efficient manner, following through to make sure problems are resolved satisfactorily.
- Maintain positive guest and colleague interactions with good working relationships.
- Support implementation of Rosewood Hotels & Resorts' values and culture characteristics.
- Understand and strictly adhere to rules and regulations established in the Associate Handbook and the hotel’s policies concerning fire, hygiene, health and safety.
- Ensure high standards of personal presentation and grooming.
- Respond to changes in the Food and Beverage function as dictated by the industry, company and hotel.
- Exercise responsible behaviour at all times and positively represent the hotel management team and Rosewood Hotels & Resorts.
- Attend training sessions and meetings as and when required.
- Carry out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Be a brand ambassador at all times and ensure brand integrity and clarity are always maintained.
- Model the company’s culture, vision, mission and core values at all times.
- Comply with company policies.
- Work within pre‑set budgetary limits.
- Take on other tasks in addition to those stated in a reasonable framework.

Qualifications- 6 to 12 months experience in Hotel Food and Beverage operations or freestanding lifestyle restaurant.
- School trained with relevant internships preferred.
- Background in free‑standing restaurant operations preferred.
- Fluent spoken and written English.
$24.90 per hour.
