- Create an experience for hotel guests by offering a larger‑than‑home experience with welcoming, helpful, and exceptional service while maintaining a clean, comfortable, and inviting environment.
- Demonstrate the attributes of a great host by being aware and attentive to guests’ needs, creating conversations, and sharing moments to make real connections.
- Maintain warm, hospitable guest relations in all guest contact.
- Respond to individual guest needs as they occur and answer questions about menu items, preparations, cocktail and wine recommendations.
- Prepare garnishes for drinks and deliver ice to the pool bar and lounge set‑up bars for bartenders.
- Mix ingredients such as liquor, soda, water, and mixers to prepare the perfect cocktail for guests.
- Monitor guests to fulfill additional requests and determine when their food and beverage experience is at an end and the guests are ready for their bill.
- Compute bills, collect payment, and make change for guests as needed.
- Respond to all guest requests and inform guests of hotel services, features, room amenities, shopping, dining, entertainment, and travel directions.
- Ask for and confirm any future dining reservations.
- Respond to and resolve guest requests, complaints, or questions in a courteous and timely manner.
- Complete projects and assignments professionally with care.
- Report any items in need of repair to supervisor and maintain equipment used in work.
- Protect guest safety and well‑being.
- Adjust to high‑pressure conditions and be open to change.
- Assume responsibility for personal growth and development, conduct oneself professionally, and set standards for all.
- Express ideas and convey information clearly, effectively, and professionally.
- Work to resolve disagreements and be respectful of peers and co‑workers.
- Scrupulously follow all Ko’a Kea Hotel & Resort policies and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
- Knowledge of the English language to effectively communicate with guests, associates, and vendors.
- Knowledge of all hotel departments and functions.
- Good mathematical and basic computer skills.
- Ability to accurately use various Microsoft Office and PMS software.
- Active listening skills and ability to learn quickly.
- Capability to work in a fast‑paced position with constant guest interaction.
- Multitasking ability.
- Physical capability to lift, push, and pull a minimum of 30 pounds and perform activities requiring considerable use of arms, legs, and body.
- Team‑player mindset.
- Knowledge of all hotel departments and events.
- Good mathematical and computer skills.
- High‑school education and relevant training and experience.
- Additional education preferred.
- Knowledge of the local area.
- CPR and first aid training.
- Additional language ability.
- Red/Blue Card or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment.
