Position Overview

Houseperson. The hourly rate for this opportunity is $29.20.

• Maintain the cleanliness of guest rooms and public areas.
• Follow policies and procedures to ensure consistency of guest room quality throughout the property.
• Maintain warm, hospitable guest relations and respond to individual guest needs.
• Move and arrange furniture, turn mattresses, dust public areas, polish metalwork and furniture, fixtures and fittings.
• Collect soiled linens for laundering, vacuum floors, clean bathrooms and common areas.
• Supply own cleaning cart with appropriate supplies for the shift; deliver ironing boards, baby cribs and roll‑away beds to guest rooms.
• Remove debris, clean driveways and garage areas, clean guest rooms when necessary, shampoo carpets with machine, strip, seal and wax floors.
• Restock shelves with paper supplies, sweep, scrub, wax and polish floors with brooms, mops and powered scrubbing/waxing machines.
• Clean rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture and draperies; dust furniture and equipment; wash walls, ceilings, woodwork, windows, door panels and sills.
• Empty and clean wastebaskets and ashtrays; transport garbage and waste to disposal area; replenish common area bathroom supplies.
• Accurately report all items in need of repair to the supervisor; maintain equipment used and protect guest safety and well‑being.
• Complete projects and assignments professionally with care, adjust to high pressure conditions and be open to change.
• Conduct oneself professionally at all times and express ideas clearly and effectively.

• Knowledge of the English language to communicate effectively with guests, associates and vendors.
• Ability to lift, pull and push a minimum of 20 pounds and perform physical activities requiring use of arms, legs, climbing, bending, stooping, reaching and handling materials.
• Team player; good hearing, writing and typing skills.
• At least 1 year experience in a similar hospitality cleaning role.
• Knowledge of all hotel departments and events.
• Good mathematical and computer skills.
• High‑school education (and relevant training and experience).
• Knowledge of local area required.
• CPR and first‑aid training preferred.
• Additional language ability preferred.
