Role Description The Wedding Event Planner is a full-time, on-site role based at Koloa Landing Resort in Koloa, HI. This role is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing weddings and related events, including ceremonies, receptions, and pre- and post-event activities. Day-to-day tasks include meeting with couples to understand their vision, developing detailed event plans and timelines, coordinating venue setup, décor, catering, and vendor services, and managing budgets and contracts.
The Wedding Event Planner will collaborate closely with resort departments such as catering, front office, and housekeeping to ensure seamless event delivery and an exceptional guest experience. The role also involves handling day-of logistics, troubleshooting issues, maintaining clear communication with clients and vendors, and ensuring all events reflect the high standards of Koloa Landing Resort.
Qualifications
- Strong Planning and Event Planning skills, with experience organizing multiple events and timelines.
- Specialized Wedding Planning expertise, including ceremony and reception coordination and vendor management.
- Budgeting skills to create, manage, and track event budgets while maintaining quality and cost control.
- Excellent Customer Service skills, with the ability to build trust, communicate clearly, and respond professionally to client needs.
- Previous experience in hospitality, events, or resort-based roles is highly beneficial.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, including professional email and proposal writing.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on event schedules.
- Proficiency with basic office software and event management tools; familiarity with scheduling and CRM systems is a plus.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or certification in event planning or hospitality is an advantage.
