Job Description: The authorized level of the position is Human Resources Regional Assistant III. Applications are being accepted down to the HR Regional Assistant I in the event of recruiting difficulties.
Salary Range- Human Resources Regional Assistant I, SR‑09: $3,333.00 per month
- Human Resources Regional Assistant II, SR‑11: $3,606.00 per month
- Human Resources Regional Assistant III, SR‑13: $3,900.00 per month
- Review, research, and consult with state level personnel to provide guidance to the Provincial Regional Office, complex area leadership, district support staff, and school personnel to resolve technical HR matters.
- Respond to assistance requests; provide talent development updates; keep staff informed of changes in personnel rules, contracts, and department procedures.
- Determine and anticipate unique school/office talent acquisition needs; maintain and monitor a regional position control system.
- Initiate and complete position actions (establishment/abolishment, extensions, transfers, payroll adjustments).
- Provide options and advice on talent acquisition; recommend suitable methods and strategies.
- Perform criminal history checks, fingerprinting, background clearance activities, and suitability requests.
- Develop and maintain a regional leave accounting system; review leave requests for compliance.
- Coordinate, monitor, and provide information on talent management/HR activities for the region.
- Draft documents related to grievance, investigation, directed leave, and disciplinary matters; prepare responses to union requests.
- Assign, prepare, and supervise operational work assignments and schedules for student helpers and lower‑level staff.
- Screen visitors and telephone calls; interpret rules, policies, and procedures.
- Manage the regional office and records; support payroll processing, payments, travel reimbursements, and office personnel actions.
- Provide designated regional office and staff coverage when assigned.
- Participate in talent acquisition, development, and retention activities and professional development.
- Human Resources Regional Assistant I – Minimum 1 year general experience, 1 year specialized experience; total 2 years.
- Human Resources Regional Assistant II – Minimum 1 year general experience, 2 years specialized experience; total 3 years.
- Human Resources Regional Assistant III – Minimum 1 year general experience, 3 years specialized experience, supervisory aptitude; total 4 years.
General
Experience:
Progressively responsible office clerical work demonstrating knowledge of office practices, systems, equipment, and technology (email, internet, software).
Specialized
Experience:
Clerical experience in an HR context with knowledge of personnel policies, transactions, and administrative support.
- Completion of any post‑high school education from an accredited institution may substitute for 6 months of general experience up to one year.
- A bachelor’s degree may substitute for 1 year of general experience and 2 years of specialized experience, meeting the requirements for HR Regional Assistant II.
