Job Overview
Amentum is seeking a Network Engineer 2 on Kauai, HI to support, secure, administer, and manage classified and unclassified PMRF mission specific networks. The role involves configuration and maintenance of routers, switches, firewalls, and other network devices in accordance with DoD/DoN/PMRF policy and provides network‑centric cybersecurity expertise.
Responsibilities- Operate, maintain, and configure all network engineering hardware and software associated with classified and unclassified network infrastructures.
- Provide leadership/mentorship to other engineers and IT support staff.
- Execute Cyber Security tasks using DISA STIGs, SCAP, SRR scripts, ACAS/Nessus, Cisco ISE, Cisco Catalyst Center, Log Rhythm, Netreo, Net Brain.
- Maintain 100% network device compliance with DoD IAVM program(s) and develop POA&M for non‑compliant devices.
- Ensure alignment with DoD Comply to Connect (C2C) policies and Zero Trust security.
- Configure and maintain network management platforms, monitor data and logs, and provide troubleshooting.
- Prepare and submit status reports, technical reports, and operational/maintenance procedures to management and customers.
- Track and report day‑to‑day and project level activities; participate in Configuration Management Plan and prepare for System Change Requests (SCR).
- Coordinate with management, team members, and customer regarding network development, security posture, compliance, and overall system status.
- Document work performed and maintain network engineering documentation using MS Visio.
- Perform other duties as required.
- Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification.
- 5+ years of network/engineering experience (or equivalent experience for a Bachelor’s degree; 7+ years for HS Diploma/GED).
- Advanced knowledge of IT networks, MPLS, and advanced networking concepts.
- Proficiency operating personal computers, standard office equipment and basic keyboarding skills.
- Strong written and oral communication skills, and critical‑thinking/problem‑solving ability.
- DoD 8570/8140 IAT II education.
- Palo Alto certifications.
- Experience with DoD systems and infrastructure including Taclanes.
- DoD 8570/8140 IAM I, II, or III certification.
Applicants must be U.S. citizens and either possess a Secret clearance or be eligible to obtain one prior to commencement of employment and maintain clearance for the duration of employment.

$140,000 - $150,000 (salary range). Actual compensation may vary based on job responsibilities, education, experience, skills, internal equity, market data, and relevant laws.
