Linux Systems Administrator

Description

Leidos is seeking a candidate to fill a Linux System Administrator position supporting DISA's GSM-O II contract at Ford Island, Hawaii. The candidate will maintain the smooth operation of multi-user computer systems running Redhat Linux and also include Windows Server on a global network management system. Working with server farms and systems in a cloud environment. Provides support on a Monday‑Friday business hours schedule, also responsible for on‑call, extended hour, and weekend support as required by mission or emergency situations.

Approximately 5% of the job will require domestic and international travel. Be familiar with performing based on service level agreement (SLA). Work is performed based on the customer Accepted Level of Performance.

• Work in a rapid paced environment and operate independently.
• Maintain the smooth operation of multi‑user computer systems, coordinating with network administrators.
• Set up administrator and service accounts, tune system performance, install system‑wide software, and allocate mass storage space.
• Interact with users and evaluate vendor products.
• Recommend hardware and software purchases, coordinate installations, and provide backup recovery.
• Develop and monitor policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources.
• Create, maintain, and implement detailed documentation and standard operating procedures.
• Coach and review the work of lower‑level technical staff.
• Provide support on a Monday‑Friday business hours schedule, also responsible for on‑call, extended hour, and weekend support as required by mission or emergency situations.

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical discipline and 8 years of overall related experience with Unix or Redhat Linux. Specific experience, education and training may be considered in lieu of degree.
• Experience with VMwarev
  
  Center and associated products.
• Experience with integration of Network Management (NM) and Element Management (EM) systems with network performance, trouble ticketing, and security subsystems.
• Experience with support systems to include enclave Ethernet switches, storage area networks (SAN), and network attached storage (NAS).
• Shell scripting (e.g., bash) and experience in other languages like Perl.
• Application of security settings and other commercial best practices such as DISASTIGS.
• Currently possess an active Top Secret security clearance.
• Currently possess DoD
  8750 certification at least IAT level II, e.g., Security+CE.
• Experience working in an AWS cloud environment.

• Working in an AWS cloud environment.
• Integration of Network Management (NM) and Element Management (EM) systems with network performance, trouble ticketing, and security subsystems highly desired.
• Experience with support systems to include enclave Ethernet switches, storage area networks (SAN), and network attached storage (NAS).
• Knowledge of networking principles including TCP/IP.
• Experience with a ticketing system such as BMCITSM.
• ITILv3 Foundation certified.
• Windows Server experience.
• Experience working with virtual environments.

Pay Range: $92,300.00 – $. The pay range is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Compensation is determined by responsibilities, education, experience, and other factors.
