POSITION STATUS
: 0.50 | Temporary

SALARY RATE
: $24.00 (Hourly) based on the FTE

These are regional positions located in the Meals on Wheels (MOW) department of the Hawai’i Health Systems Corporation (HHSC) Kaua’i Region. The role is part of the Meal Delivery service that provides freshly prepared meals to homebound individuals. The Transport Meal Deliverer (TMD) assembles, packages, and delivers meals and food supplies to homebound customers, providing a brief environmental wellness check and distribution of program or nutrition information.

The TMD practices safety while on delivery routes, obeys all traffic rules, builds positive rapport with customers, and performs any other duties as assigned. Flexible hours may be required, including weekends, holidays, and evenings.

The position will report directly to the Cook III (Catering Services Supervisor), position number 59868, or their designee.

• EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent.
• LICENSURE: A valid driver’s license with a clean traffic abstract.
• EXPERIENCE: Prior experience in customer service or delivery-related roles; experience with geriatric and/or disabled populations is preferred.
• DESIRED SKILLS

• KNOWLEDGE OF: Familiarity with local roads and neighborhoods; excellent communication and interpersonal skills; strong time management and organizational skills.
• ABILITY TO: Perform heavy lifting and moving; work independently and complete all daily assignments; walk multiple miles and carry food items; lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
