Job Description

What you will accomplish:

  • Engineer III creates an experience for our hotel guests by offering them a larger than home experience with welcoming, helpful, and exceptional service.
  • Maintain warm and hospitable guest relations in all guest contact.
  • Maintain all areas of the hotel and its common areas in good working order and be aware of any potential emergency situation.
  • Schedule preventative maintenance and maintain all equipment on a regular basis.
  • Transmit and receive messages using all communication avenues.
  • Use the appropriate safety equipment when working on a project or repairs.
  • Respond to and resolve all guest requests, complaints, or questions in a courteous and timely manner.
  • Protect guest safety and well-being.
  • Adjust to high pressure conditions and be open to change.
  • Assume responsibility for personal growth and development.
  • Always conduct yourself professionally and set standards for all.
  • Express ideas and convey information clearly, effectively, and professionally.
  • Work to resolve disagreements and respect peers and co‑workers.
  • Inspect the hotel regularly to ensure it meets safety standards.
  • Organize repair projects in a manner that does not disturb guests.
  • Find ways to reduce hotel operating costs and conserve energy.
  • Be available to work a flexible schedule.
  • Must have basic working knowledge of plumbing, drywall repair, painting, electrical, and other general repair skills.
  • Must display very good organization and time management skills.
  • Protect company assets by properly securing tools, equipment, and supplies.
  • Must have or be able to obtain a Pool Certification within the first 90 days of hire.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
What you will bring
  • Knowledge of the English language to effectively communicate with guests, associates, and vendors.
  • Knowledge of all hotel departments and functions.
  • Good mathematical and computer skills.
  • Ability to actively listen to others and be a team player.
  • Ability to lift 30 pounds and pull 25 pounds and perform physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs.
  • Ability to tolerate moderate amounts of walking and operate automatic and manual vehicles.
  • At least 1–2 years of related repair experience in building maintenance, heating/venting/air conditioning, or a related field, preferably in a hotel or hospitality setting.
  • CPR and First Aid Training preferred.
  • HVAC and Pool Certified preferred.
