Supervisory General Engineer

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

Hawaii has many outdoor activities all year round including surfing, paddling, diving, fishing, and hiking.

• Serve as the Deputy Director of the Directorate of Public Works, ensuring continuity of programs across Operations and Maintenance, Environmental, Master Planning, Engineering, and Business Operations Divisions.
• Oversee the execution of mission-critical public works functions, including infrastructure development, facility maintenance, environmental compliance, and sustainability initiatives.
• Coordinate with internal and external partners to ensure uninterrupted delivery of essential services supporting installation readiness and long-term infrastructure resilience.
• Provide strategic leadership to maintain organizational effectiveness, operational consistency, and adherence to regulatory and policy requirements.

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• This position requires you to submit a Public Financial Disclosure Report (OGE 278) or a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report (OGE
  450) upon entry, and annually thereafter.
• Incumbent must have or be able to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance.
• This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
• This position requires 10% temporary duty travel (TDY) 10%.
• Position has been designated as mission essential - so the Federal government to continue to perform essential functions during contingency operations, natural disasters, extreme weather situations or other emergency situations.
