We are seeking a driven individual who is eager to learn, contribute, and grow within a fast‑paced hospitality-focused property organization. As part of Troon, you’ll contribute to a global leader in golf and community management.

General Purpose

The General Manager at Kiahuna Golf Club directs and oversees all aspects of the facility including its activities and relationships between guests, associates and community. The GM has the ultimate responsibility for maximum guest satisfaction, agronomic conditions and financial performance. The General Manager reports directly to the Regional Director of Operations.

Essential Duties
  • Prepares and monitors annual budget, revenue goals and expenses as well as generating various (weekly, monthly, etc.) business volume forecasts.
  • Monitors monthly and other financial reports/statements on a daily, weekly and monthly basis for the facility and takes effective corrective action when necessary.
  • Prepares and delivers monthly reporting to owners on financial and operational activity.
  • Establishes basic personnel policy, initiates and establishes basic personnel policy, initiates and monitors policies relating to personnel actions and training along with professional development programs.
  • Ensures that all Human Resources procedures and policies are followed by management staff in coordination with Troon Human Resources support.
  • Develops, maintains and administers a sound organizational plan and initiates improvements as necessary.
  • Maintains membership with the PGA or GSCAA and CMAA and other professional associations as applicable. Attends workshops and meetings to keep abreast of current information and developments.
  • Oversees the care and maintenance of all the facility’s physical assets.
  • Develops an annual agronomic plan and works with the Superintendent and agronomy team to implement its success.
  • Assists with developing and coordinating marketing programs with Troon’s Regional Marketing Director/Team to promote the facility’s services to potential customers.
  • Implements policies and procedures for multiple departments, including compliance of all company standards relating to quality of products and services.
  • Responsible for interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning, and directing work, evaluating performance, rewarding, and disciplining associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Ensures that effective orientation and training are given to each new associate.
  • Directly manages department members that may include, but is not limited to:
    Pro Shop and Merchandise Manager, Superintendent, Administration Manager and others.
  • At times, may need to assist in the Proshop checking in golfing guests.
  • Regular and reliable attendance.
Education / Experience

Bachelor’s degree (BA) from a four‑year college or university; or five or more years related experience and/or training in both golf operations and agronomy; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Strong people and communication skills as well as business acumen. Experience with golf course/clubhouse renovations is a plus.

Physical Demands

Regularly stands, walks and sits. Occasionally may climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crawl, crouch, taste or smell. Regularly uses hands to finger, feel or handle, reach with arms and hands, talk or hear. Occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds.

Environment / Noise

Occasionally works in outdoor weather conditions. Noise level is moderate.

Job Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Preferences
  • Ability to read and speak English may be required in order to perform the duties of the job.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Word.
