Duties SummaryThis position is responsible for the management and operation of a farm program, including the direct supervision over crew leaders and farm laborers engaged in performing the various farming activities; keeping records and preparing reports; the proper operation and maintenance of farm equipment; and performing other related duties as assigned.

Experience (paid or unpaid), education, training or any combination thereof, which demonstrates the ability to read, comprehend and apply written and oral directions; and the ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. - General Experience
:
Three (3) years of responsible farm work experience in one or a combination of the following areas:- Plant/crop production experience including planting, propagating, harvesting, soil conservation, fertilizers, herbicides and pesticides; identification, prevention, eradication and control of plant disease and pests; knowledge of crop growth characteristics; and related farming practices.
- Livestock and/or poultry care and management experience including feeding methods, disease prevention, safety and sanitation practices, and basic maintenance of farm equipment; familiarity with supervision of others.
- Study at an accredited university, community college, junior college or vocational/technical school in agriculture may be substituted for experience as follows:
Fifteen semester hours for six (6) months of experience, provided coursework included a minimum of one course in plant/crop propagation and/or livestock management, up to a maximum of two (2) years of general experience.
