The Director of Sales & Marketing is responsible for collaborating on all revenue-generating efforts for the resort, including group, transient & catering sales, marketing, public relations, and revenue strategy collaboration. This executive leader develops and executes comprehensive sales and marketing plans that drive market share, revenue growth, brand awareness, and profitability while delivering exceptional guest experiences consistent with Hyatt's purpose and values.
The ideal candidate is a strategic, results-oriented hospitality professional with a minimum of five years of luxury or upper-upscale resort sales leadership experience. Preferred candidate has a history of leading with CARE and a proven track record of achieving revenue goals in complex resort environments.
Salary Range: $155,300 - $258,800
Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership- Develop and execute annual sales and marketing strategies aligned with resort business objectives.
- Lead the resort's strategic revenue plan, collaborating closely with Revenue Management, Events, Operations, Finance, and Corporate Marketing teams.
- Identify market trends, competitive opportunities, and emerging demand segments to maximize revenue and market share.
- Participate as a member of the Leadership Committee and contribute to overall resort business planning.
- Foster strong community relationships by taking an active leadership role in visitor industry efforts and local resident initiatives.
- Direct a very tenured team - over-seeing group, transient, leisure, marketing and business center.
- Establish and achieve sales goals for all market segments.
- Cultivate relationships with key accounts, meeting planners, travel advisors, luxury consortia, and strategic partners.
- Oversee prospecting, solicitation, contract negotiations, and account management activities.
- Conduct regular sales reviews, pipeline analysis, and forecasting.
- Collaborate with Marketing Team in development and implementation of integrated marketing campaigns across digital, social, public relations, and traditional channels.
- Ensure compliance with Hyatt brand standards and positioning.
- Oversee management of agency relationships, content strategies, and promotional initiatives.
- Oversee reputation management, social media presence, and guest engagement strategies.
- Partner with Hyatt corporate marketing teams on brand initiatives and campaigns.
- Collaborate with Revenue Management to optimize pricing, distribution, and inventory strategies.
- Analyze market intelligence, demand patterns, and competitive data to drive strategic decisions.
- Participate daily business reviews, commercial strategy meetings and forecasting processes.
- Support achievement of RevPAR, ADR, occupancy, and total revenue objectives.
- Recruit, mentor, and develop high-performing sales and marketing professionals.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations, career development planning and colleague survey action planning.
- Champion Hyatt's values and “Hawaiian Classic” culture & legacy throughout the commercial organization.
- Prepare and manage departmental budgets.
- Monitor expenses and ROI on sales and marketing investments.
- Deliver accurate revenue forecasts and business performance reports.
- Ensure achievement of profitability and revenue targets.

- Minimum 5 years of Director of Sales, Director of Sales & Marketing, or senior commercial leadership experience in a resort environment.
