Frozen Dough Production Manager

This position manages the frozen dough production and distribution operations producing the majority of the company’s laminated bakery products which are distributed throughout the United States and abroad for an established wholesale baking facility that is part of a global family of companies.

This position requires a hands on leader and is accountable for all aspects of this operation to include: financial performance, production operations, quality and product safety, maintenance and engineering, distribution, employee safety, assets, inventory, etc. and the continuing development of this segment of company operations. Reports to VP of Operations.

Responsibilities:

Manage day to day operations by directing staff of managers, supervisors, and administrators in a facility of approximately 150 production and warehouse employees across three continuous shifts of operation. Set priorities, delegate assignments, and follow up on results to ensure timely accomplishment of tasks and the achievement of the facility's operational and financial objectives.

Initiate and maintain programs to ensure and continuously improve upon product safety and sanitation, compliant with the standards and requirements of the Global Standard for Food Safety and other third-party safety and/or quality and auditing entities. Ensure compliance with all promulgated policies, regulations, and standards. Ensure all plant personnel remain vigilant and follow food defense procedures.

Evaluate the facility's operating and financial performance and requirements. Formulate long term objectives, strategies, and resource requirements, etc.

Evaluate effectiveness of established methods, controls, and reporting systems. Develop and direct implementation of improved methods and controls, and reporting systems for the optimization of quality and overall operational efficiency.

Perform and oversee additional responsibilities as required.

Education, Training, and Experience:

Bachelor's Degree in Business, Food Science, or related technical field or equivalent experience.

Minimum 7 years' management experience in bakery manufacturing environments.

Two years' experience with a laminated dough product.

Experience in production management, inventory control, and distribution planning, labor relations, facilities and equipment management, quality assurance and process control methods. BRC experience a plus.

Ability to effectively lead a team of diverse employees with demonstrated leadership skills.

Strong problem solving, decision-making and organizational skills.

Ability to manage compliance with food safety standards and regulations.

Familiarity with general accounting, budgets and administration.
