Position Summary: The Logistics Project Manager provides direct support to NSWG8 / LOGSU8 by managing and executing logistics planning, testing, and deployment activities that enhance alternative transportation capabilities for Naval Special Warfare operations. This position serves as the primary logistics advisor and coordinator, ensuring compliance with DoD regulations, maintaining operational readiness, and enabling mission success through sound logistical practices. The role requires extensive NSW experience, strong analytical and communication skills, and the ability to operate in high-tempo operational environments.
Dutiesand Responsibilities
- Plan, test, and manage alternate transportation and deployment methods
- Provide technical logistics expertise and compliance guidance
- Identify and mitigate logistical and operational risks
- Develop training plans and mentor LOGSU‑8 personnel
- Maintain lessons learned, SOPs, and logistics documentation
- Conduct preventive maintenance and inventory activities
- Support CONUS and OCONUS mission requirements
- Must hold an active Secret Security Clearance
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Clear and effective verbal and written communication
- Minimum 5 years supporting Naval Special Warfare, specifically SDVT-1 and LOGSU-8 operations
- Experience with NSW logistics theory, deployment requirements, and operational environments
- Ability to manage resources, schedules, budgets, and logistics execution
- Experience advising senior military and civilian leadership
- Professional conduct IAW DoD, Navy, USSOCOM regulations
- Ability to comply with OPSEC, CUI, IT, and security policies
- Capable of mentoring and training government personnel
- Ability to work in operational and warehouse environments
- Capability to travel and operate in CONUS and OCONUS locations
- Ability to sit, stand, and move throughout the workday
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk, listen, and write. The employee frequently is required to use foot/ankle motions, hands or fingers, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee is required to stand, walk, sit; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
