Position Overview
Amentum is seeking an Electronic Technician D for a role on Kauai, HI in the Aerial Targets Department. Under close supervision, the individual will conduct target systems electrical and jet engine run tests, troubleshoot, repair and calibrate all systems and associated equipment, and perform related duties.
Responsibilities- Perform periodic inspections and maintenance tasks in accordance with published procedures.
- Document results of all maintenance actions electronically through the Navy’s record‑keeping system.
- Read and interpret electronic and mechanical schematics, using simple and complex test equipment to troubleshoot and repair systems/equipment.
- Assist in preparing and developing new local procedures, procedural changes, and modification proposals.
- Certified to handle, install, and check‑out aerial target related ordnance.
- Configure, install, and calibrate augmentation equipment; perform acceptance tests on target drones and associated ground support equipment.
- Support all phases of target operation, including target assembly, operational checks, launch, and decontamination.
- Perform other duties as required.
- Lifting, pushing, and pulling 25–50 lbs.
- Requires walking, standing, crawling, kneeling or cramped positions, repeated stooping, frequent climbing, and sitting.
- Customer contact, extended workday, laboratory field assignments, and inclement weather.
- Associate Degree in a related field or equivalent technical training (e.g., 2‑year technical school).
- Two‑year experience in a related field.
- Proficiency in electronics theory and ability to read and interpret complicated schematic diagrams for troubleshooting and repair to the component level.
- Ordnance certification or ability to obtain it.
- Proficient PC skills: MS Word and Outlook.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance; US citizenship is required.
- Hourly rate: $41.59 (subject to adjustment based on experience, education, and market data).
