Annual Salary: $45,000
- Manage day-to-day social media community interactions, moderate chatter, and address negative sentiment when possible.
- Coordinate responses to conversations with organization members, especially during crises.
- Increase the size and engagement of the social media community.
- Generate proactive user engagement by working with influencers and journalists; nurture community to amplify fundraising efforts.
- Establish and manage new social profiles; assist corps/programs in managing theirs.
- Maintain and monitor the organization’s social media presence across platforms.
- Manage the social media communications calendar and syndication schedules with content from contributors.
- Curate and create content, including copywriting, sourcing, and aggregation; collaborate with other departments as needed.
- Develop content production schedules using tools such as Hootsuite; create processes to maximize output.
- Conduct audits of existing social media presences.
- Integrate social media efforts with web, digital media, media relations, marketing, and fundraising initiatives.
- Stay up to date with the latest social media best practices and technologies.
- Brand existing and new profiles on all main networks; claim and manage auto-generated profiles on location-based networks.
- Build the brand in collaboration with territorial and divisional headquarters.
- Attend relevant community events, corps events, and visit corps sites for photo and interview opportunities.
- Produce and manage reporting and analytics of all social media activity; generate weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports.
- Identify trends and relay learnings to guide content, marketing, and fundraising strategy.
- Measure the success of social media campaigns and deliver updates to directors regarding traffic and conversion of visitors.
- Support the Donor Data Management Director during the holiday season by assisting with data and donation processing.
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or a related field.
- Proven work experience in social media.
- Ability to work with and develop a marketing plan.
- Skill in creating the appropriate voice for each platform.
- Proven ability to build social media communities.
- Understanding of graphic design principles and photography.
- Hands‑on experience in content management.
- Excellent copywriting and communication skills.
- Solid knowledge of SEO, keyword research, and Google Analytics.
- Analytical and multitasking skills.
- Knowledge of database maintenance preferred.
- Commitment to maintain integrity and confidentiality.
- Team player who takes initiative and is flexible in assisting others.
- Reliable, dependable, and adaptable.
- Ability to work with diverse populations and personalities.
- Commitment to abide by Salvation Army policies and procedures.
- Independent thinking and problem‑solving ability.
