Community Funding Hub Administrator

The Community Funding Hub Administrator is a senior, Master's-level professional responsible for building and sustaining the Waiʻanae Kaiāulu Funding Hub from the ground up. This position integrates three core functions: (1) leading inclusive, culturally grounded community engagement to co-create the Hub's vision and governance model; (2) identifying, writing, and managing grants that advance the collective work of ABCOs across the Waiʻanae Moku;

and (3) honoring the legacy and ongoing contributions of existing community organizations while cultivating new and sustainable funding pathways for their vital work.

This is a high-impact, relationship-centered role requiring deep cultural humility, strong grant writing expertise, and an unwavering commitment to community self-determination and ʻāina stewardship.

Education/

Experience:

  • Master's degree in Public Health, Public Administration, Social Work, Hawaiian Studies, Environmental Studies, Nonprofit Management, or a related field required
  • Minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in grant writing, nonprofit administration, or community development
  • Lived experience in or strong cultural ties to the Waiʻanae Moku or broader Native Hawaiian community.
  • Familiarity with ʻāina-based organizations and the ecological, cultural, and social context of the Waiʻanae coast.
  • Experience with community-based participatory research, Indigenous data sovereignty frameworks, or community-governed data systems.
  • Knowledge of federal grant programs related to environmental stewardship, Indigenous communities, community health, or social services (e.g., USDA, EPA, HRSA, HHS, Ameri Corps).
  • Experience working within a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) or similar complex nonprofit environment.
  • A current Hawaii State Driver's License and daily access to an automobile are required
