Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU/CCU RN for a 13-week travel contract in Hawaii, requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience and the ability to float across multiple units including OB, MS, PACU, and ER.
Responsibilities- Small 4-bed/4-room ICU/CCU unit within a hospital setting
- Serves a diverse patient population spanning pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric age groups
- Cares for surgical patients and those with serious respiratory and/or cardiac conditions requiring specialized ICU/CCU services
- Patient ratio is 1:2 depending on acuity; a second nurse is called in when acuity demands it (e.g., one patient on a ventilator)
- Provides after-hours PACU recovery coverage as needed
- Required to float to OB, MS, PACU, and ER based on individual competency
- Night shift with rotating schedule; must be open to working any shift with no exceptions
- 80-hour, 2-week pay period with no exceptions
- 13-week contract
- Coordinates and delivers individualized, age-appropriate care to ICU/CCU patients with surgical, respiratory, and/or cardiac conditions
- Orientation consists of two days:
Day 1 covers HR onboarding (fingerprinting, policy review, ), safety orientation, risk and quality management, in-services, and IT orientation — beginning at 10 AM;
Day 2 is focused on EMR training - Unit orientation follows facility orientation and includes 1–2 day shifts and 1–2 night shifts alongside a staff RN, with a competency binder to be completed
- COVID-19 vaccine is not required for this position
- Active Hawaii (HI) RN license required
- Minimum 2 years of ICU/CCU nursing experience required
- Current certifications required: BLS/BCLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
- Emergency room experience recommended
- Must be willing and able to work any shift with no exceptions
