RN - Emergency Department

Registered Nurse (RN) Emergency Department (Contract) Position

We are seeking an experienced Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week contract assignment with the possibility of extension. The ideal candidate will be highly adaptable, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and be committed to delivering exceptional patient care in emergency and acute care settings.

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in the Emergency Department.
• Provide rapid assessment and treatment for patients with acute illnesses and injuries.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Administer medications, treatments, and emergency interventions in accordance with established protocols.
• Accurately document patient care utilizing the Cerner electronic medical record (EMR) system.
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies, patient safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Float to Long‑Term Care (LTC) and Intensive Care Unit (ICU) departments as needed to support staffing and patient care needs.

• Variable shifts required:
  • Day Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
  • Night Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
  • Additional 8‑hour day, evening, or night shifts as needed
• 80 hours per two‑week pay period
• Open to 12‑hour shift schedules
• Must be available to work all shifts, including weekends and holidays

• Minimum of two (2) years of recent Emergency Department nursing experience required.
• Current active RN license required.
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and emergency response skills.
• Ability to work effectively in high‑pressure situations and adapt to changing patient care needs.
• Previous experience floating to multiple units is preferred.

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
• Basic Life Support (BLS/BCLS)
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
