OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for a Cardiac Progressive Care Unit (CVU/CPCU) travel assignment in Hawaii. This position involves caring for telemetry and step-down patients requiring advanced cardiac monitoring and specialized nursing care. The unit consists of progressive care and step-down level patients, offering an excellent opportunity for nurses with telemetry, cardiac, and acute care experience to expand their clinical skills in a dynamic healthcare environment.
Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive nursing care for telemetry and progressive care patients.
- Monitor cardiac rhythms and interpret telemetry strips.
- Perform ongoing patient assessments and identify changes in clinical condition.
- Administer medications and treatments according to provider orders.
- Conduct fingerstick blood glucose monitoring and related interventions.
- Utilize critical thinking skills to manage patients with cardiac and medical conditions.
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record system.
- Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and discharge instructions.
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) License.
- Minimum of 1 year of recent acute care hospital experience within the last year.
- Current BLS Certification.
- Strong assessment and patient care skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced acute care environment.
- Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience.
- Telemetry nursing experience.
- ACLS Certification.
- PALS Certification.
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Certification.
- Cardiac monitoring and rhythm interpretation experience.
