OBJECTIVE
This position requires someone who is friendly, eager to learn and a self‑motivator. Due to the high amount of guest contact, the individual must be a people person, intuitive and friendly with a vibrant personality.
JOB SUMMARYTo provide a genuine, professional, and intuitive service to guests and associates in line with the company’s high‑end standards, values, and vision. The Server Assistant will assist the service team in delivering exceptional service, work closely with the Food and Beverage team to achieve departmental goals, particularly in guest satisfaction, and be prepared to work flexible shifts to create a fully multi‑skilled and productive Food and Beverage team with a sense of Aloha.
Server Assistant responsibilities include serving plates, glasses and silverware, refilling beverages and cleaning/resetting tables between courses.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Guest Satisfaction- Utilizes proper food handling and food service techniques.
- Exhibits a friendly, helpful, and courteous manner when dealing with guests and fellow employees.
- Assists the Server in taking food and beverage orders in a friendly and timely manner and ensures accurate entry and delivery of the order.
- Ensures the delivery of Rosewood Relationship Hospitality and provides exceptional and memorable guest service.
- Efficiently delivers refined and intuitive high standards of service with respect to Hawaiian culture and tradition.
- Provides excellent service to internal customers in other departments as appropriate.
- Handles all guest and internal customer complaints and inquiries in a courteous and efficient manner, following through to ensure problems are resolved satisfactorily.
- Maintains positive guest and colleague interactions with good working relationships.
- Establishes rapport with guests, maintaining good customer relationships.
- Ensures that Rosewood standards are implemented and followed.
- Ensures that all Food and Beverage Sequence of Service are implemented.
- Carries out service to the highest professional standards in a genuine and intuitive manner.
- Ensures appropriate mise en place before and after service.
- Works closely with other Outlet associates in a supportive and flexible manner, focusing on overall success of the hotel and guest satisfaction.
- Effectively manages guest demands with dining room staff.
- Gathers and records guest preferences.
- Works in a supportive and flexible manner with other departments, as one team.
- Maintains par stocks of all equipment and guest supplies as required.
- Seats, takes orders, and serves food and beverage to guests according to the established sequence and procedures.
- Presents menu, answers enquiries and makes suggestions regarding food, beverage and service to restaurant guests.
- Clears and resets counters or tables at conclusion of each course.
- Is fully conversant with all aspects of the Micros System.
- Computes bill and accepts payment.
- Performs cashier functions as required.
- Verifies cash received ensuring only genuine money is collected.
- Verifies all credit cards presented by guests for validity.
- Strictly adheres to all finance policies and procedures regarding cashiering and cash handling.
- Has a thorough knowledge of all food and beverage menu items and can recommend combinations, upsell alternatives based on preferences or dietary restrictions.
- Understands and strictly adheres to rules and regulations established in the associate handbook and the hotel’s policies concerning fire, hygiene, health and safety.
- Ensures high standards of personal presentation and grooming.
- Responds to changes in the Food and Beverage function as dictated by the industry, company and hotel.
- Attends training sessions as and when required.
- Carrying out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Contributes to ensuring brand integrity and clarity are always maintained.
- Acts as a Brand Ambassador at all times, maintaining brand integrity and clarity.
- Models the company’s culture, vision, mission and core values at all times.
- Complies with company policies.
- Works with a sense of Aloha and respects Hawaiian culture and tradition.
- Takes on additional tasks as necessary, within a reasonable framework.
- 6 to 12 months experience in hotel Food and Beverage operations or freestanding lifestyle restaurant.
- Background in upscale free‑standing restaurant or Food & Beverage operations preferred.
- Familiarity with Forbes standards is preferred.
- Beverage knowledge is preferred.
- Fluent spoken and written English.
- High School Diploma.
$15.45 per hour
