The Store Manager In Training (SMIT) is a developmental role designed to prepare you for a CVS Store Manager position through a self‑paced, collaborative training program conducted over 16 weeks. You’ll receive virtual and hands‑on learning experiences and support from a District Leader, Human Resources Business Partner, Training Store Manager, and Store Manager coach.
ResponsibilitiesAs an SMIT, you will:
- Communicate effectively in verbal and written formats to support and lead your team.
- Perform customer care duties to provide high levels of service.
- Execute merchandising strategies to support store sales growth.
- Manage store inventory and assets to maintain profitability.
Additionally, you are expected to:
- Actively engage with your leader during Key Learning Experiences to support your promotion path.
- Support your store as a management team member and lead in a manner consistent with CVS values and policies.
- Engage colleagues in support of the company’s purpose of helping people on their path to better health.
- Be willing to accept promotion roles within the designated market where you work.
- High School diploma or GED (required).
- Bachelor’s Degree (preferred).
- Retail management experience or experience as a CVS Supervisor.
- Willingness to accept a promotion to Store Manager at any location in the designated market.
- Ability to transfer to other CVS Pharmacy stores within the designated market.
- Ability to work a schedule that may vary based on business needs.

Pay Range: $18.50 - $28.67 per hour
This pay range represents the base hourly rate for all positions in the job grade for this role. The actual base salary offer will depend on factors such as experience, education, geography, and other relevant considerations.
