Are you passionate about creating memorable events and building strong client relationships? We are seeking a talented Catering Sales Manager to drive catering revenue, cultivate new business, and ensure seamless event execution from initial inquiry through completion. This hands-on, client-facing role is perfect for someone who excels at both sales and service, with a knack for crafting experiences that exceed expectations.

Your Role:

As the Catering Sales Manager, you’ll be responsible for generating catering and SMERF group business and guiding clients through the planning process with professionalism and care. Your focus will be on selling, detailing, and coordinating events, ensuring every meeting, celebration, and gathering reflects our hotel’s standards of quality. Some of your key responsibilities include:

  • Solicit new and existing catering and SMERF group accounts to achieve or exceed budgeted revenue.
  • Conduct prospecting, make sales appointments, and actively participate in networking to generate new leads.
  • Respond promptly to incoming inquiries and prepare proposals tailored to client needs.
  • Conduct site tours, tastings, and client meetings to showcase hotel offerings and secure business.
  • Detail event requirements including menu selections, room setup, A/V needs, timelines, and special requests.
  • Create and distribute Banquet Event Orders and internal communication ensuring operational readiness.
  • Partner with the Culinary, Banquets, and Events teams to ensure flawless execution and guest satisfaction.
  • Forecast and track catering revenue; monitor pacing and adjust strategies as needed.
  • Maximize revenue through strategic up-selling of menu enhancements, upgrades, and hotel services.
  • Maintain accurate account information, trace dates, and client communication in the sales system.
  • Attend daily/weekly sales meetings and participate in required M.O.D. coverage.
  • Assist with promotions, sales blitzes, and client events as assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What We’re Looking For:

  • 2+ years of catering sales or hotel event planning experience required (sales or catering focus).
  • Experience detailing meetings, events, or banquets preferred.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required; a 2 to 4-year college degree is a plus.
  • Strong sales skills with the ability to build rapport, present confidently, and close business.
  • Must be proficient with Windows operating systems and sales/meeting planning software.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license for applicable state and an acceptable MVR (Motor Vehicle Record)
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple events at once.
  • Delphi experience preferred.
