Security Chief – Kauai, HI

Amentum is seeking a Security Chief for a non‑union manager position located on Kauai, HI
. Under the general direction of the Security and Emergency Services Manager, the Security Chief will overall administer, train, and supervise the Security Guard Department. Responsibilities include patrol, installation entry control, emergency security responses, hazardous material response, disaster evacuations, resource protection, crime prevention, missile launch support, and personnel development.

• Act independently and manage all Security Guard functions.
• Supervise pre‑incident planning, policies, and procedures.
• Ensure all Security Department personnel perform their duties, are properly assigned, and all required equipment is available and maintained.
• Protect the life and security of all assigned personnel.
• Maintain discipline and efficiency of the personnel.
• Manage a large workforce of over 65 personnel on a 24‑hour, three‑shift operation.
• Administer discipline as necessary to maintain a well‑disciplined security force.
• Coordinate with local and state police agencies for responses to security incidents.
• Act as the Point of Contact (POC) for all Police and Security agencies for the Koa Lani Security Guard Department.
• Work with the Security and Emergency Services Manager to identify and accomplish all Statement of Work (SOW) requirements.

• Ten years of experience as a principal supervisor or manager in an operation the size and scope similar to that of the Pacific Missile Range Facility and at least seven years’ experience with an organized security or police department.
• Valid state of HI driver’s license.
• Excellent communications and cognitive skills to handle emergency operations.
• Good computer skills for daily reporting requirements.
• Good interpersonal skills to promote effective team and group dynamics.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and Outlook.

• Associate degree in Business Administration, Police Science, or related field, or minimum seven years of supervisory/managerial experience in the Security or Police field in lieu of degree.

Secret security clearance is required. Applicants must be U.S. Citizens and either currently possess a Secret clearance or be subject to a Government security investigation to obtain and maintain a clearance for classified information throughout employment.

$93,000 – $103,000 per year.
