Summary

About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the 780th Military Intelligence Brigade, DET-HI, 782d Military Intelligence Battalion, located in Kunia, Hawaii.

Duties

Help
  • Serves in the Battalion S3 Section as a Cyberspace Operations Training Officer.
  • Plans training activities or opportunities to support development and maintenance of technical skills and functional expertise of personnel conducting or supporting the execution of tactical or expeditionary Cyber operations.
  • Works with the Joint, Army and INSCOM training advocates to train and certify personnel of the command as adjunct faculty instructors.
  • Prepares training material and coordinates training resources (equipment, facilities, databases, and instructors/trainers) required to execute technical and functional training of personnel conducting or supporting the execution of Cyber and SIGINT.
  • Develops and manages training opportunities, courses, and schedules for Mobile Training Team (MTT) events for local and geographically dispersed Battalion elements.
  • Develops new or tailors existing training material to meet the mission specific needs of the operation or integrate new technology or lessons learned.
  • Certifies and maintains credentials as an adjunct faculty instructor in subject(s) related to SIGINT support to Cyberspace Operations and expeditionary Cyber capabilities.
  • Supports Expeditionary Cyber capability training on station and deployed as required supporting operations, maintaining technical proficiency, and document training requirements.
  • Solicits information from leaders and soldiers on the effectiveness and relevance of training.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
  • Must be willing to undergo and successfully complete a counterintelligence-scope polygraph examination with No Deception Indicated (NDI) on a pre-appointment and periodic basis.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET security clearance based on a Single-Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) with eligibility for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI).
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain access to National Security Agency (NSA) facilities and networks.
  • Temporary duty (TDY) travel may be required 20% or less.
  • All INSCOM employees may be subject to extended TDY or worldwide deployments during crisis situations to perform mission essential functions as determined by management.
  • Must possess, or be able to obtain and maintain, a valid driver's license.

To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one (1) year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as:
Planning, managing, and executing SIGINT/Cyber training for assigned unit personnel; coordinating with higher headquarters and subordinate units to identify specific training requirements and schedule training activities; and, preparing/maintaining training plans and records, information papers, briefings, and related documents to support periodic review and assessment of unit training..
