The HVAC Installations Technician works under the supervision of the Installations Lead. The primary function of the Installations Technician is to assist in the installation of residential HVAC systems.

Job Functions
  • EPA Certified
  • Able to perform Installer Laborer job functions with minimal supervision.
  • Able to install slim duct, condensate drain lines with proper slope and bracing, control wire, refrigeration piping, and line‑sets to include proper flaring of fittings.
  • Understands and can identify common pipe fittings, materials, and the different types of residential HVAC equipment typically installed (one‑way cassettes, wall mounted indoor units, condensers, exhaust fans, etc…).
  • Able to properly mount indoor/evaporator units, place/mount condensers, install thermostats, insulate refrigerant and condensate piping, and charge HVAC systems with supervision.
  • Able to braze/solder and pressure test systems with nitrogen to identify potential leaks.
  • Basic understanding of refrigerant pressures, and to perform system evacuations to include pumping down systems, and pressure testing with supervision.
  • Basic understanding of electrical and control systems, able to understand plans, electrical diagrams, and scope of work.
  • Understanding layout and install equipment, refrigerant piping, and condensate drains with minimal supervision.
  • Basic understanding of superheat and subcooling.
  • No issues with using common tools and reading a tape measure.
  • Provides support and assistance to the installations team.
  • Participates in employee engagement, effective communication, problem identification, team problem solving, and implementation of team‑based solutions.
  • Motivated to learn all that is necessary with the installation of HVAC systems.
  • Assists the installation team to ensure daily objectives are achieved.

Job Qualifications
  • High school Diploma or equivalent required
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to relate with a variety of personality types
  • Attention to detail and the ability to complete work to a deadline
  • Good organizational and time management skills to handle multiple issues
