Location: Kekaha
The Maintenance Welder shall provide welding and metal fabrication services in support of the repair and replacement of the main complex docks, voice/data cable systems, distribution systems, equipment, maintenance equipment, range systems, and rocket ground support equipment.
Responsibilities- Support welding, metal fabrication, and machine services for the Sandia National Labs Kauai Test Facility.
- Perform tasks beyond those expected of a typical Maintenance Welder to support mission operations and work with other trades.
- Fabricate or repair items using brazing, gas and arc welding, thermal cutting, grinding, sheet‑metal work, and hand tools for cutting, bending, forming, shaping, fitting, and installing sheet‑metal articles.
- Operate metal shop equipment such as a lathe, mill, drill press, and grinder to fabricate required maintenance items.
- U.S. citizen with a valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to pass a pre‑employment background check and client drug screen.
- Broad background in structural maintenance skills, with a High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Qualified in manual shielded metal arc welding of unlimited thickness plate, square and rectangular tubing, groove and fillet welds in all positions under ANSI/AWS D1.1-90 and ANSI/AWS D14.1-85; experience with ANSI/AWS D1.2-90 and ANSI/AWS D9.1-90 is desired.
- Must possess (or be able to obtain) an active DOE L clearance; preference given to those with an active clearance.
- At least five (5) years of welding experience with exposure to the structural maintenance areas listed above.

Pay Range: $38.43 per hour
