Overview

The Removal & Reinstall Foreman will provide leadership and technical expertise for a solar removal and reinstallation crew. The Foreman is responsible for the safety, quality, customer experience, and productivity of each assigned solar removal and reinstallation technician. The Foreman leads a team of 2 to 3 members to successfully complete residential solar removals, reinstallations, and any required service work.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee successful removal and reinstallation of residential solar projects, including electrical interconnections to the grid.
  • Lead or assist solar battery installations when assigned.
  • Ensure accurate completion of crew and individual time sheets.
  • Organize, lead, and train crew members to meet project guidelines and deadlines.
  • Monitor installer progress hourly to ensure adherence to construction job flow procedures.
  • Review inventory at the loading dock and stock the crew truck appropriately.
  • Lay out and assemble solar modules, mounts, electrical equipment, and tools in preparation for installation.
  • Apply weather sealing to roofing structures, buildings, or support mechanisms.
  • Remove and assemble racking, solar modules, panels, electrical equipment, and support structures per project plans.
  • Manage all aspects of construction workflow to drive productivity.
  • Communicate supply and equipment issues to address service call needs.
  • Develop positive dynamics within the installation crew and with branch co‑workers; resolve worker problems and recommend solutions.
  • Maintain consistent interface with customers throughout construction.
  • Stay in regular communication with field performance technicians and the Performance Call Center.
  • Ensure all electrician work meets NEC and local electrical codes.
  • Diagnose and resolve system and electrical issues.
  • Clean up project sites and vehicles after completion.
  • Maintain focus on safety, quality, customer service, and productivity.
  • Participate in mandatory training on new products, installation methodology, and safety.
  • Perform service calls when required.
  • Travel up to 15% of the time.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma required.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience, including 1 year of solar installation experience.
  • Valid state or local Electrical Journeyman certification or license preferred (may be required depending on state).
  • Prior experience leading teams of 2–4 preferred.
  • Experience with electrical work involving wiring up to 600

    VDC and 480

    VAC.
  • Ability to perform all installation duties of an Installer or Lead Installer.
  • Clean driving record and ability to pass a driving background check; valid driver’s license required.
  • Must be 21 years of age and possess CPR and First Aid certifications, maintained as required.
  • Electrical/PV Installation knowledge: working knowledge of current NEC codes, ability to interpret single‑line drawings, and understanding of solar interconnection and code compliance.
  • Understanding of interconnection activities and basic construction principles.
  • Adherence to company safety policies and procedures; ability to identify hazards and encourage safe work.
  • 5+ years of installation experience with the latest electrical codes, methods, and equipment.
  • Superior internal and external communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Team‑player mindset with acknowledgment of others’ contributions.
Physical Demands

Transport materials and equipment (up to 50lb frequently, up to 100lb with assistance); work on rooftops with varied angles and surfaces involving bending, twisting, squatting, climbing, kneeling, crawling, turning, standing, and balance; climb ladders; work outdoors in extreme heat, cold, wet conditions, and humidity; use fine motor skills; operate ladder and fall protection harnesses; work on roofs and other high areas;

recognize colors; work in confined spaces; hear verbal warnings.

Compensation

Starting salary/wage: $38.67 to $51.56 per hour.
