Journeyman Service Technician

Job Description

Kauai Mechanical is looking for an experienced and motivated Journeyman Service Technician to join our growing Service Department. This position is ideal for a skilled technician who takes pride in troubleshooting, problem-solving, and delivering high-quality service to customers.

As a Journeyman Service Technician, you will work on a variety of HVAC, commercial refrigeration, and control systems across residential and commercial systems throughout Kauai. This role offers the opportunity to work independently, lead larger repairs and projects, and continue building your technical expertise with a company that values professionalism, safety, and quality workmanship.

Job Functions:

• Diagnose and repair HVAC problems, including component installation and replacement.

• The ability to perform preventative maintenance on HVAC and Commercial Refrigeration Systems as needed.

• Possess the technical skills to identify and isolate problems clearly communicating what is needed to come to a resolution.

• Estimate costs of installation, repairs, and services to customers.

• Read and apply electrical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, and wiring diagrams.

• Ability to talk confidently with the customer, acting as a liaison between the customer and office.

• Perform work with a focus on Safety and Quality.

• Responsible for maintaining a clean and organized job site. Must leave customer jobsite cleaner than it was at arrival.?

• Able to maintain a clean and organized work vehicle.

• Maintain accurate records of work performed and parts used within the company CRM.

• Able to take the lead on larger repairs and jobsites that require more than one technician.

• Take responsibility for safety performance and program compliance.??

• Any additional duties/responsibilities deemed necessary.?

Job

Qualification:

• High school Diploma or equivalent required.??

• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to relate with a variety of personality types.??

• Attention to detail and the ability to complete work to a deadline.

• Minimum of 5+ years of HVAC related experience.

• Able to work independently with minimal supervision.

• Good organizational and time management skills to handle multiple issues.??

• Good communication skills.

• Valid Driver’s License.

• Universal EPA Certification.

Pay: $40-60/hour based on experience.
