PKL Services Inc. will provide aircraft cleaning, washing, and organizational level (“O” Level) maintenance in support of squadrons within Marine Aircraft Logistics Squadron (MALS-24). Work will primarily be performed on MV-22 for Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 268 and 363 and C-130 for Marine Aerial Refueler Transport Squadron 153 at Marine Corps Base Hawaii, Kaneohe Bay, HI.
Aircraft Mechanic I (C-130 Flight line)The mechanic also performs flight line essential services as directed by the daily Flight Schedule.
Additional duties include:- Wash and clean aircraft exterior and aircraft components utilizing high pressure wash system.
- Performs pre/post wash lubrication and corrosion control of aircraft.
- Repair engines, power train and general mechanical maintenance of moderate difficulty, required to meet the assigned missions.
- Make repairs to aircraft and follows direction of higher graded workers.
- Troubleshoot malfunctions in aircraft landing gear, flight surfaces and controls, anti- icing, pneudraulic, engines, auxiliary power unit, and ventilation and heating systems.
- Repair, replace, and rebuild structures, such as wings and fuselage, and functional components including rigging, surface controls using hand tools, power tools, machines, and other special tools and equipment.
- Adjust, repair, or replace aircraft accessories, performs preflight, thru-flight, and post-flight maintenance inspections, performs miscellaneous duties to service aircraft, including cleaning screens and filters, greasing moving parts, and checking brakes.
- Supervise the jacking and towing of aircraft, enter in the maintenance records description of the work performed and verify the work was performed satisfactorily.
- Service engines and airframe components at line station making repairs, short of overhaul, required to keep aircraft in safe operating condition.
- Specialize in work, repair and modification of structural, precision, and functional spare parts and assemblies, and specialize in engine repair.
- Performing hot and cold refueling of aircraft and removing and installing power plants, components, and parts as required.
- May be required to be licensed by Federal Aviation Administration if not certified on a specific aircraft platform.
- May require specialization in engine or other aircraft systems related disciplines.
- Will be required to cross train on the MV-22 aircraft platform.
- Any and all other duties as assigned by the Aircraft Site Manager.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
- Shall be able to obtain a Department of Defense (DoD) Common Access Card (CAC) card privileges to ensure access to flight line work spaces and critical information systems.
- Four (4) years previous experience in troubleshooting and repair on the C-130 series aircraft or possess equivalent industry experience such as Airframe and Power Plant (A&P) or Federal Communication Commission (FCC) license or greater.
- Must be able to attain all qualifications during the 90-day probationary period.
- Shall have completed the appropriate Navy Skills Specialty Class “C” school for their MOS/NAC/AFSC.
- Powerplants personnel may require APU certification on the C-130.
- Thorough knowledge of corrosion control and aircraft painting techniques.
- Must have and maintain a valid State Driver’s License.
