Salary

$3,471 to $4,388 per month (SR‑10) Level II.

Shift Work

Applicants must be willing and able to work rotating shifts, including evenings, weekends and holidays.

Duties Summary

The Visitor Information Program Assistant II is responsible for greeting, welcoming and assisting the traveling public at the Ellison Onizuka Kona International Airport, providing information of interest to visitors, encouraging travel to the Hawaiian islands, and performing related clerical duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualification Requirements
  • Basic Experience – Ability to read, understand and follow oral and written instructions and a high degree of verbal skill. This may also be met by possessing a high‑school diploma or equivalent.
  • General Experience – One year of work experience demonstrating patience, tact and an even temper in dealing with others.
  • Special Language Requirement – Must be able to speak one of the following languages in addition to English:
    Japanese, Mandarin, Korean, Tagalog, Hawaiian, Samoan, Spanish, French.
  • Driver’s License – Valid driver’s license at the time of appointment.
  • Substitutions Allowed – Relevant substitutions per the complete qualification specification.
  • Federal Criminal History Records Check – Successful fingerprint‑based background check; no disqualifying convictions within the last ten years.
