Salary:
- Level I $3,006 to $3,809 per month (SR-08, Steps C - I).
- Level II $3,194 to $4,038 per month (SR-10, Steps C - I).

Duties SummaryVisitor Information Program Assistant I: Responsible for greeting, welcoming, and assisting the traveling public by providing information of interest regarding hotels, accommodations, ground and air transportation, tourist attractions, and activities. Also disseminates maps, brochures, and periodicals at the airport.
Visitor Information Program Assistant II: In addition to all Assistant I duties, must speak a designated language and English and provide interpreter services as required. This level also requires language proficiency in one of the specified languages.
Minimum Qualification RequirementsBasic Experience Requirement: Applicants must possess experience that demonstrates the ability to read, understand, and follow oral and written instructions, and a high degree of verbal skill. This experience may be obtained through part-time or unpaid work, provided it was continuous, not necessarily full-time, or via a high school diploma or equivalent.
General
Experience:
One (1) year of work experience that demonstrates patience, tact, and an even temper in meeting and dealing with others. Experience may include, but is not limited to, hospitality or customer service that caters to the traveling public.
Special Language Requirement (Assistant II): Knowledge of speaking one of the following languages in addition to English:
Japanese, Mandarin, Korean, Tagalog, Hawaiian, Samoan, Spanish, French.
Substitutions Allowed: Completion of accredited college coursework may be substituted for General Experience at a rate of fifteen (15) semester credit hours for six (6) months of experience. At least thirty (3) semester credit hours must be in psychology, sociology, social work, or another behavioral science.
Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) Clearance – Federal Criminal History Records Check: Applicants for positions with unescorted access to secured airport areas must undergo a criminal history check. No convictions of disqualifying offenses within the past ten years are permitted.
