Job Overview
Seeking Social Workers or Human Services Professionals to improve the overall quality of life of people within their environment through remediation and prevention of problems, enhancing accessibility, accountability, and coordination of service delivery among a variety of professionals and agencies.
Roles and ResponsibilitiesPositions vary across multiple settings including hospitals, social service agencies, schools, correctional facilities, and programs focused on substance abuse, aging, and family violence.
- Human Services Professional I – Entry level; training in basic principles, methods, and techniques; assigned cases with limited scope and complexity; progression to higher levels.
- Human Services Professional II – Advanced trainee; receives additional training; handles increasingly complex cases and works toward independent functioning.
- Human Services Professional III – Independent worker with full core services: assessment, planning, direct services, monitoring, evaluation, and adjustment of service plans; handling highly complex cases.
- Human Services Professional IV – Highly complex cases; may supervise a small group of less experienced staff; programming responsibilities such as policy development, training, reporting.
- Human Services Professional V – Supervisory role overseeing lower-level staff or engaged in program development and evaluation; requires extensive knowledge and experience.
- Level I: $4,243 (SR-16
D) - Level II: $4,590 (SR-18, Step
D) - Level III: $4,961 to $6,043 (SR-20, Step D to I)
- Level IV: $5,369 to $6,535 (SR-22, Step D to I)
- Level V: $6,043 to $7,351 (SR-24, Step D to I)
- Human Services Professional I – Bachelor’s degree with at least twelve (12) semester credit hours in counseling, criminal justice, human services, psychology, social work, social welfare, sociology, or related behavioral sciences; must demonstrate ability to write reports, interpret complex material, and solve problems.
- Social Worker II and III – Bachelor’s or Master’s in social work from a CSWE-accredited program, or Doctoral degree from an accredited university.
- Human Services Professional II and III – Bachelor’s degree with at least twelve (12) semester credit hours in the aforementioned subjects.
- Human Services Professional IV – Same as II and III.
- Human Services Professional V – Same as II and III.
- Level II & III (Social Worker):
No specialized experience required for Level II; one year for Level III if holding a Bachelor’s in Social Work; none for Master’s or Ph.D. - Human Services Professional II: 6 months;
Level III: 1½ years. - Level IV (Human Services Professional): 2½ years;
Level V: 3½ years. - Human Services Professional I – No specialized experience required.

Some positions may require a valid driver’s license.
