Salary Range: $23.00 To $23.00 Hourly
POSITION SUMMARYThis position is responsible for participating in the provision of transportation services to qualified WCCHC patients including reasonable accommodations for persons with disabilities, as a part of the spectrum of enabling services. It is expected to work within the program directives of the funding source, within the philosophical framework set by the Board of Directors, and within the WCCHC community. This position actively participates in special activities of the health center.
Must be able to safely operate all company vehicles including the 14-passenger ADA accessible Handi‑Van style bus with wheelchair lift, Mobile School Based Clinic Bus, Dental Clinic Van, Mobile Clinic Van and other vehicles as deemed necessary; safely and properly load and unload passengers and secure wheelchair passengers; analyze best routes for on‑time pick‑ups and drop‑offs; and provide timely and accurate reports on accidents and incidents, maintain logs, perform data entry, appointment scheduling, and vehicle maintenance.

What our PTDs do is not just drive our company vehicles, but provide extended, professional services for our passengers from initial greeting to drop‑off, building relationships with passengers and showing compassion to give them the most positive transport experience. It is also expected that this role performs in a professional manner when working with staff for the mobile services.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Current Standard Class Type 4 Hawaii State Driver’s License to operate vehicles between 15,001 – 26,000 Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) OR a Commercial Driver License (CDL) to drive vehicles with GVWR of 26,001 pounds or more or vehicles transporting 16 or more passengers
- Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). Exam DOT Medical Clearance throughout employment
- Current driver’s Traffic Abstract updated yearly
- Complete the Driver Improvement Program Class (DIP) with Hawaii Transportation Association (HTA) 1‑5yrs annually, 6yrs+ every other year (note: must complete during probationary period)
- Ability to operate a vehicle for an extended period of time
