Recruitment Number: 26-0195. Department of Transportation Highways Division has an urgent vacancy located in Lihue.

Requirements:
Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class B with Endorsement N (tank vehicles 1,000 gallons or more capacity). No restrictions related to codes E, L, or Z. A copy of the CDL must be submitted at application; otherwise the application will be rejected.

Operates two or more types of motorized equipment such as trucks, backhoes, and tractors/excavators with a factory rated capacity of 1.5–5 tons. May also perform manual work tasks related to general construction and maintenance. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Legal authorization to work:
Citizens, nationals, permanent resident aliens, or eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment in the United States.

Experience:

One year of work experience operating at least two of the motorized equipment classes (e.g., trucks 1.5–5 tons, rollers under 5 tons). Equivalent combinations of experience and training accepted.

Commercial Driver’s License:
Class B with Endorsement N, no restrictions on codes E, L, or Z. An out‑of‑state CDL may be accepted if transferred to a Hawaii‑issued CDL before employment start date and within 30 days of arrival. The Hawaii CDL will be verified upon start of employment.
