Department of Transportation, Highways Division has an urgent vacancy in Lihue.

• Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class B with endorsement N (Tank vehicles 1,000 gallons or more capacity) and no restrictions related to codes E (manual transmission), L (air brakes), and Z (full air brakes). A copy of the CDL must be submitted at the time of application.
• Operate two or more types of motorized equipment with a factory rated capacity of 1 ½ to less than 5 tons (e.g., trucks, backhoes, tractors/excavators) as a major work assignment. Perform manual construction and maintenance work as needed.
• One year of work experience operating at least two types of the motorized equipment listed above or equivalent experience and training.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States as a citizen, national, permanent resident alien, or eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment. Applicants must provide a valid out-of-state CDL, which must be transferred to a Hawaii‑issued CDL within 30 days of arrival.
• Pre‑employment testing for controlled substances is required.
