Operates two or more types of motorized equipment such as trucks, backhoes, and tractors/excavators with factory rated capacity of 1 1/2 but less than 5 tons as a major work assignment; may perform manual work tasks in connection with general construction and maintenance work; and performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications- Legal Authorization to Work Requirement. The State of Hawaii requires all persons seeking employment with the government of the State to be citizens, nationals, or permanent resident aliens of the United States, or eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment.
- Experience and Training. One (1) year of work experience involving operation of at least two of the motorized equipment representatives of the class Equipment Operator II (e.g., trucks having factory rated capacity of 1-1/2 but less than 5 tons, and rollers under 5 tons), or any equivalent combination of experience and training.
- Commercial Driver's License (CDL). At the time of application, applicants must possess a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class B with Endorsement N (Tank vehicles 1,000 gallons or more capacity) and no restrictions relating to codes E (manual transmission), L (air brakes), or Z (full air brakes). A valid out-of-state CDL may also be accepted; selected candidates must transfer their out-of-state CDL to a Hawaii‑issued CDL within 30 days of arrival in Hawaii.
NOTE: If a copy of your CDL is not submitted at the time of application, your application will be rejected.
