Staff Accountant
Addison Group is seeking a Staff Accountant for a opportunity with a growing multi-location organization. This role will support key accounting functions, assist with month-end close activities, and provide audit support during a critical reporting period. The ideal candidate will have strong general ledger accounting experience, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist with month-end close activities, including preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit card accounts, and other balance sheet accounts.
- Support revenue recognition and financial reporting processes.
- Prepare and analyze profit and loss statements and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Maintain the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger.
- Assist with inventory-related accounting and cost analysis activities.
- Support fixed asset accounting, including tracking and depreciation schedules.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Prepare audit schedules and supporting documentation.
- Gather, organize, and review requested materials for audit testing.
- Assist with financial statement support and supplemental schedules.
- Research and respond to auditor inquiries in partnership with internal stakeholders.
- Help ensure timely completion of audit-related requests and deliverables.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
- Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience.
- Experience supporting external audits strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and general accounting principles.
- Advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP.
- Experience with ERP or accounting systems such as Net Suite, Sage Intacct, Quick Books, or similar platforms.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments.
- Experience supporting accounting operations for multi-location organizations.
- Exposure to inventory accounting and cost accounting.
- Prior public accounting or audit experience.
- Ability to quickly adapt to new systems and processes.
