Cross Country Education is seeking a passionate Special Education Teacher to support a high-impact classroom in Hawthorne, CA for the remaining school year.
Position Overview- Lead a high school classroom of approximately 15 students, delivering core academic instruction (ELA, Math, Science, and Social Studies) for four periods a day while coordinating with a team of four para educators.
- Provide standards-based lessons, utilizing the N2Y/Unique Learning System (ULS) curriculum, that focus on basic academics alongside essential daily living, recreational, and pre-employment skills.
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), ensuring all academic and non-academic accommodations are met and utilizing automated tools for precise progress tracking.
- Facilitate student success during general education periods and planning for post-secondary transition (up to age 21), fostering independence and community integration.
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Master’s Degree in Special Education (Preferred)
- Valid Education Specialist Instruction Credential (Moderate/Severe or Extensive Support Needs
- EL Certification (CLAD/BCLAD) required
- Previous experience with Unique Learning System (ULS) and Symbol Stix (Highly Preferred)
- Top Compensation:
Earn $53.60 - $58.80 Per Hour
