OSI Optoelectronics is seeking a MES Applications Engineer to implement manufacturing control solutions at company factories in North America. Based in Hawthorne, California, this role requires regular travel to Snoqualmie (WA), Tecate (MX) and Toronto (CA). The primary responsibilities include requirements collection, solution proposals, project management, system implementation, user training, and troubleshooting.
Responsibilities- Acquire knowledge (through self-study) to implement and train on the MES system.
- Meet with business stakeholders to collect and document operational requirements.
- Construct manufacturing engineering documentation, including process flows.
- Develop and publish implementation and training plans for agreed system solutions.
- Execute system implementation, training, and validation.
- Escalate promptly to the internal MES support team.
- Deliver direct technical support to factory users; troubleshoot faults and promptly elevate for resolution.
- Develop an escalation support plan for off-hours or planned absences.
- Proactively seek operational improvement opportunities.
- Collaborate with other enterprise application platform owners to facilitate integration.

- Report any quality problems or defects to the manager or senior management to implement corrective action and prevent recurrence.
- Duties may be modified or assigned at any time to meet business needs.
- Bachelor’s degree in an IT or engineering discipline (experience may substitute for a degree).
- 3+ years of related work experience.
- Prior exposure to electronics and microelectronics manufacturing environments is preferred.
- Basic understanding of IT infrastructure is preferred.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
- Prior exposure to Factorylogix is preferred.
- Motivated self-starter with strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Must work well under pressure.
- Must be able to travel domestically and internationally; travel estimated at 25%‑50% of the time.
